We’re reaching out to our friends, family, and community on behalf of our beloved uncle, brother, son — and to so many of your kids, simply “Uncle”
Zach is the glue that holds our family together. He’s the one who shows up, no matter what. He takes care of our mom/grandma Ruth full-time, always putting others before himself.
A few weeks ago, Zach was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune condition that’s already taken a toll on his body. He began waking up unable to move different parts of his body — scary and painful episodes that led to this diagnosis. Then, just days later, his weakened body gave out, and he suffered a traumatic injury: he broke his ankle in three places and tore a major ligament.
Because Zach doesn’t have insurance, he’s now facing major medical costs completely out of pocket:
• $8,500 for ankle surgery
• Additional costs for specialist appointments, labs, and follow-ups for both the ankle and Hashimoto’s
• Loss of income for at least three months while he heals
Zach would never ask for help himself — but he’s always the first to lend a hand when anyone else needs it. He’s our family’s superhero, and right now, he needs a little help from the rest of us.
