I’m Douglas , I went back to school for a lot of reasons but the biggest reason was my kids and my mom. At 17 my mom almost died when I was 17 because a Doctor was supposed to be doing a hysterectomy , but he thought it would be a good idea to take one of her ovaries and put it behind her spine. So not knowing it she was helping her brother run his night club. One day she was walking trying to better her health when she fell down and was throwing up. A gentleman found her and went to get help. She was hospitalised and couldn’t work. I had to take over the bills. So I had to choose between school or work. It broke my mom heart for me to choose work. This was on 1987, but I promised her I would get my degree. In 2013 I called her on FaceTime and showed her my diploma and she was crying and happy. Know now I have 51000 in school debt and the school promised to help to find us jobs in our field of study and never did. I even called them to ask if there was anything I needed to do. Baker College didn’t respond to me for about a year . So I had found a job but I feel like I wasted my time and money now I am trying to get rid of the debt. At least I fulfilled my promise to my mom before she passed.
