Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support. Recently, my son was seriously injured when a rock was thrown at his face under the care of another family member. (I know they should be held responsible- but this has been a fight for accountability already and I need to get my son the help he needs as my first priority then I can deal with the rest) Two of his front teeth were broken — one down to the root — and he now needs urgent dental treatment to prevent infection and long-term damage and pain in the top tooth.
Unfortunately, he was referred to an Endodonist by his dentist which are very rare to find as they usually don’t see kids under 12, and the endodonist offices that accept his insurance have wait times of 3 to 6 months just to be seen, not for the procedure which isn’t an option when he’s going to have increased pain and is at risk of further complications. I have already had to pay out-of-pocket for a second opinion, where we were told he needs a root canal immediately — something that insurance won’t cover with this office and they need the money up front. I need to pay for the actual procedure and then the anesthesia is paid separately. Thankfully the offices have been so amazing with offering discounts! But this is ultimately still a big amount to pay for such an emergency situation.
Beyond the physical injury, this has taken a deep emotional toll on my son. I’ve had to hold his hand while he cries out of fear and pain, constantly asking why this happened to him. He’s afraid to smile. Has been only able to use his back teeth. And he’s afraid to be around other kids. Watching my child go through this kind of pain — not just physically but emotionally — has been heartbreaking.
As a parent, I just want to take the pain away and give him the care he deserves. If you’re able to help in any way, your support will go directly toward his treatment and recovery. Every donation, every share, every kind word means the world to us right now.
I have had to miss so many days of work to take him to and from offices, and have no more PTO to use. I am not asking for help with work loss, JUST the procedure money, but it’s important to note how much this has affected our family.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for being part of our journey to get him back to my old kid who was full of happiness & smiles ❤️
With gratitude,
Gabby
