Unexpected Emergency Medical

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at approximately 10:00 pm, my life changed. I started feeling very sick to my stomach and got very bad cramping. My daughter rushed me to the local hospital. Within 1 hour, I had all my lab work, my MRI, and my CAT scan results back. The doctor said, “It’s life or death; we have to transfer you out to either Southwestern Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma, which is only 50 miles one way, or to OU Medical in Oklahoma City, 120 miles away one way.” Then he proceeded to tell us that med flight wasn’t an option because we had severe tornado warnings, so the ambulance would be there at 7:00 am. They would monitor me until then. He told my daughter and myself that I had a bowel obstruction and it’s severe.

Fast forward to getting to OU Medical at 9:34 am, the ER doctor came in and told me that they would be doing the same testing as Jackson County; it’s just standard procedure. I said okay. Well, at 9:50 am, the OR team came in and said, “We are prepping you to go straight into surgery.” I was in surgery from 10:15 am till a little after 3:00 pm. Where I thought I was just going under for a minor procedure, I had a huge bowel obstruction with a hernia. They had to take out a good portion of my bowel intestines. They also found a couple of spots to biopsy, and I have an appointment next week in the city at the cancer center.

I am currently staying with my daughter and son-in-law. My son-in-law is currently in between jobs, and they have 2 little kids, a 3-year-old and a 17-month-old, and my daughter is currently pregnant and is due in August. I just need help with groceries and money for gas and lodging while having to go to Oklahoma City, which is 2 and 1/2 hours away one way, and Tulsa, which is 4 hours away one way. If you could find it in your heart, thank you.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
