On May 22nd, Tyler was inside his pickup truck while it was being towed. Tragically, a large dump truck collided head-on with the pickup. The tow truck driver was unharmed, but Tyler suffered life-threatening injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Tylers Injuries:
* Both of his femurs are severely broken.
* Part of his right femur is gone, which has delayed treatment options to a degree.
* There’s a large hole through his right knee.
* Both knees are broken.
* Fractured neck and upper spine.
* Fractured pelvis.
* Half of his ribs are broken.
* Hundreds of staples and stitches.
* He’s already undergone several surgeries, and there are more to follow soon.
*
He’s already undergone four surgeries, and has more scheduled very soon.
It’s only by Gods grace that he survived such a devastating accident. His body may be broken, but his will is strong.
Right now, he:
He can’t sit up, stand, bend, walk, feed himself, or bathe on his own. He needs 24 hour care. Not sure how we’ll handle Physical therapy yet, but it will be critical for him to regain control of his legs.
Having no health insurance, has creating some major financial challenges.
How You Can Help:
Tyler is too proud to ask for help for himself, but he needs the support of those who care and love him. Both financially and emotionally. Regardless of how large or small your contribution may be, it will matter. Every dollar will be spent strictly on his medical needs.
Immediate Needs
• Several types of wound care supplies to clean and cover the areas most prone to infection.
• He requires specialized medical transportation, and mobility assistant to get him to and from his medical and surgical appointments until he’s able to bend, sit, stand, etc. on his own.
So many other needs that haven’t been mentioned yet.
Most importantly, please keep Tyler in your prayers. Encourage him with your visits and support. This accident has indeed changed his life, and his priorities.
If you can help, please do.
