Turners’ Journey: Care and Compassion in India

Hello Beloved,

My name is Dr. Naima Turner and these are my daughter Imani and Anissa.

As many of you know, I have been a nurse for 12 years and I have been serving now for 7 years in various missions around the world. However, my children have never done so. They have yet to experience the joy that comes from serving others. Many, or shall I dare say, most of our children in America are privileged and self centered. They’re minds are consumed with thoughts of themselves, their desires and pleasures. I truly feel that all children should experience various cultures, lifestyles, and the peace and fulfillment that comes from sacrificing and caring for others without grand acknowledgements, rewards, or monetary gain. It is truly a Blessing!

Through word of mouth I became aware of the need of volunteers to medically and spiritually tend to the needs of God’s people in Assam, India. I believe God is calling me and my children to go beyond the boundaries of our local community to share His love with people around the world. This Christmas we are NOT celebrating in the typical fashion with gifts to one another, as we are answering the call to give the gift of health, hope, love to those that desperately need it.

From December 19-January 1st 2026 we will be serving with the “Maranatha Volunteer International” team. Maranatha, attempts to recruit volunteers to join them as they tend to physical, mental, spiritual needs of those around the world. Many parts of India are in great need of clean water, schools, church buildings, medical attention, and spiritual uplifting.

Our mission team’s desire and goal is to tend to the needs of those in Assam, India as well as to go out to the surrounding community through health outreach and children’s ministry programs. During the project, younger volunteers, 12 and under, will have a chance to attend the Day Camp to experience different aspects of service, gain insights into daily life in India, and spread the gospel of truth, God’s love, and the plan of salvation.!

This mission trip is dear to me and like none other, because my girls will have the opportunity to bring hope, life, and love to the people of India as I get to behold how God works mightily through them and for their spiritual growth.

There are two ways that you can join in this ministry with us as we prepare to serve in the India.

1. Pray for us. Please ask God to give my team safe travel, caring and generous hearts, and the right words to minister with. Your prayers are crucial for this trip. As Chambers wrote, “Prayer does not equip us for greater works; it is the greater work.”

2. Offer financial support. If you feel called to support the work God is doing in the India, please prayerfully consider mailing or giving a donation. I am responsible for raising the $7,895 it costs for me and the girls to go on this mission trip (by 10/20/2025). Your support will enable us to participate in this exciting opportunity and provide the care that is needed to those who cannot provide it for themselves.

Taking part in a mission trip is an incredible spiritual experience. We are very excited to be a part of the work that God is already doing in the Assam, India. We are also excited to grow in our faith, and to share those experiences with you when we return.

Thank you so much for considering supporting us through prayer and/or a financial gift. I look forward to joining God’s work around the world through our team’s mission trip to India!

Blessings and Maranatha!

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
