Tori’s Path to Healing: A New Wheelchair

Hello everyone!

My name is Tori, and I’m a 27-year-old, disabled agender person.

I have multiple mental and physical disabilities, including some that make it difficult for me to be mobile on my own, without assistance.

I’m making this fundraiser to hopefully raise $1000, due to my current wheelchair being in shambles from the New Orleans roads always in a constant state of disrepair.

It’s hard to find a wheelchair that is tall enough to handle my height (6’1″) and sturdy enough to handle my weight (254 lbs), and I finally found one that will be able to handle both.

The only catch is that with my limited income, stressful financial situations, and constantly searching for stable housing while waiting to be called by permanent supportive housing, it’s been challenging to save up.

The wheelchair I’m wanting to purchase is $600, and the link to it is below (if you’d like to purchase it outright): https://www.walmart.com/ip/5401574619?sid=c5c9c559-7078-41d2-947f-1713d0ef13bd

And you can contact me through fundraiser or Facebook for shipping information if need be.

The remaining $400 will be used to purchase a wheelchair ramp for our home (which has two steps to get in and out of), a shower chair (due to showers/baths being difficult from my POTS making me extremely lightheaded while in the shower), and a new wedge pillow to help me sleep.

I just recently had a major surgery as of May 13th, a robotic laparoscopic radical hysterectomy with 14 lbs of endometriosis tissue removed from within my lower abdominal cavity and pelvis. It will take me 4 to 5 months to fully recover from that, on top of having my feeding tube replaced at the end of September to help my stomach heal from the chronic and erosion gastritis.

If you can’t donate even a dollar, every single share counts, to get this post as far and as wide as possible. fundraisers have not worked for me in the past, but I’m hoping this one will because I desperately need this help with making my life easier and more independent, and making care a lot easier on my live-in caregiver (who is also my husband).

If you don’t feel like using fundraiser (because yes, they do take a portion of the donations made), I also have PayPal, and my husband has PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle.

Please message me here on fundraiser or on Facebook for that information or if you have any questions or concerns about if or how you can help, or more details on my story.

Thank you so much for reading, and for all of your support, thoughts, and prayers.

– Much love and light,

Kalyn “Tori” Richard

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
