Hi Everyone, this is Shawna, Tisha’s sister. As many of you know, Tisha has been fighting cancer for over 14 years now. She has a rare form of cancer, myosarcoma, that attacks her muscles and soft tissue. She had clean scans for a little over a year, but in February of this year, the doctors discovered the cancer had returned in the soft tissue around her lungs. She has been undergoing very aggressive treatments and surgeries since then, and the medical bills have become too much for her to handle alone. Despite doing everything we can, she has reached a point where we cannot do it alone financially. If you know Tisha, you know how fiercely independent and strong (and stubborn) she is, which is why she has never let me do a fundraiser before now. She is a single mom, the hardest-working teacher, and the most selfless human I have ever known, and she needs our help. The financial strain of medical bills, treatments, and daily living expenses is overwhelming. Don’t get me started on the racket that health insurance has become.
So, with that said, Tisha has begrudgingly allowed me to create this fundraiser to help cover expenses. Many of you have asked over the years what you could do for her to help ease some of her life’s distress; for now, this seems like the best avenue. If you’re able to donate, we would be deeply grateful. Even a small amount can make a big difference. If you can’t donate, simply sharing this page and sending massive prayers would mean the world.
