Hi my name is Matilda and I have recently been diagnosed with rapid kerataconus in both of my eyes. I need to have cross-linking eye surgery done on both of my eyes as soon as possible due to the rapid decline in my eyesight. The procedure cost is $5000+ hospital expenses and other costs. Afterwards I have to get scleral lenses which are a hard contact that covers my entire sclera to help my vision and the cost of these are $1500 minimum. I am typically not the type of person to ever ask for help in any way but, due to the severity of my eyesight and how adamant the ophthalmologist is that I am to have the procedure done as soon as possible I am unfortunately having to ask for help. My close family and friends know of how my health has been over the past 5 years including being diagnosed with IIH and the daily struggles I face with all of my medical and mental health conditions, this really came as a shock to me which is another reason why I need to reach out for help. Please do not feel pressured to help in anyway, your support and care will not go unnoticed.
