Tate Milo Sharp
Tate was born on May 18, 2025, at just 24 weeks and 3 days via emergency C-section. He was 1 pound 4 ounces and 11.5” long. Tate was an IVF baby, so he is very precious to us and is our miracle rainbow baby . He currently loves to stretch out his arms and legs like he wants a hug, stirs and opens his eyes when his dad talks to him (loves Tyler’s voice!), likes to kick his covers off so his feet can stick out and be free, likes to suck on his breathing tube, hold mommy and daddy’s fingers, and has captured the hearts of his NICU nurses with his silly faces!
Tate is currently in the NICU and has a long road ahead of him before he can come home with us. Currently, he has just gotten over a staph infection but now is being treated for a UTI and possibly pneumonia (still waiting on blood cultures). He is currently intubated due to tiring himself out trying to breathe on his own, regulating his body temp and levels (blood sugar, blood pressure, feedings, weight gain, etc.), and fighting so many infections so young. Tate also has a heart murmur that is trying to get resolved with medication. He is currently getting blood transfusions every couple of days as well due to the amount of blood being taken for testing. Thankfully, he has been cleared of brain bleeds, which is a big milestone for how young he is!
Because of Tate’s unexpected early arrival with a long journey ahead, he currently has medical bills that are starting to come in that are very large and piling up. Ashley also has several medical bills due to having emergency cerclage surgery at 20 weeks for being 1 centimeter dilated, being admitted to the hospital at 22 weeks and 1 day when her water broke, and having to stay until she had an emergency C-section at 24 weeks due to an infection along with having a small uterus that caused contractions to go under the radar. Ashley is also currently being treated for postpartum preeclampsia.
We are asking for help to cover things such as medical expenses, time off work, traveling to and from the hospital, other unexpected costs, and to help us purchase things he still needs so that when Tate comes home, we can give him our full attention without worry or stress. Currently, Ashley is on maternity leave and staying up at the hospital with Tate each day while Tyler has gone back to work. Sometimes Tyler is called away from work due to the day-by-day news we get from Tate’s doctors, adding to the financial tightness.
Any help is greatly appreciated! If you cannot donate, we simply ask for prayers during this difficult time. We know that God has his hand over our family and he will see Tate through the NICU journey and once he can come home .
