Hello friends, family, and kind supporters,
We are reaching out to share a bit more about our daughter, Maxine, and to ask for help as we navigate the road ahead.
Maxine was recently diagnosed with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (DiGeorge syndrome). Along with this, she has several significant heart conditions — an interrupted aortic arch (type B), a large ventricular septal defect, and aortic stenosis — which will require major surgeries and ongoing specialized care.
While we are fortunate to have a dedicated medical team and insurance coverage, there are many unexpected expenses that come with this journey. These include:
-Temporary lodging near the hospital
-Time away from work to be with Maxine during hospital stays and recovery
-Ongoing therapies and follow-up appointments
