Why I’m fundraising
We are launching this site for Vickie Idstein and her family to relieve some of the financial burden that began on May 30th. Vickie is smart, funny, kind, and loves life. She is a wonderful Mom to Della who just turned five and is happily married to Pat for 8 years. She has always made her parents Mark and Margie so proud and has loved being a teacher at Nicolet High School.
Everything changed on May 30th for Vickie and her family when she suffered a massive left hemispheric stroke secondary to a carotid dissection. She underwent a craniectomy to relieve the pressure on her brain and is currently at St. Luke’s Hospital in the ICU. She is making progress but has a long road ahead of recovery and rehab. She currently has limited speech, is unable to use her right arm, and has decreased function of her right leg.
Pat and Vickie are so lucky to have so many friends and family that are willing to help. Vickie is determined and will fight to regain as much function as she can. Pat and Vickie dedicated their lives to teaching and are fortunate to have health insurance, but we are hoping to raise funds to help with immediate and long-term needs for Vickie and her family.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated and will be tremendously helpful. Please continue to pray for Vickie and her family during this incredibly tough time.
The impact of your support
These funds will support what insurance doesn’t, extra care, future care, lost wages, and more.
Through personal experience, we know the incredible impact generosity from family and friends make.
Your support means so much❤️
PS. I am Pat’s sister, and set this up on Pat and Vickie’s behalf.
