As-Salamu-Alaikum. This is about Shamim, 35-years old. Daughter Saima Jahan is 10 . Saima lives in Bangladesh with her mother, Shamim’s wife.
After losing father in 2002 at childhood when he was only 12 years old, Shamim could study up to HSC. He did not complete HSC. For lively hood, keeping daughter and wife at home, Shamim went to Dubai with a Laundry Operator job in a hotel.
Little over a year ago, Shamim got an opportunity to go to Italy for a better job. He came back to Dhaka to prepare for taking on the job in Italy. Unfortunately, he started feeling pain near his jaw. This turned out to be Oral cancer. Shamim already had gone through multiple surgeries, Chemo Therapies. Already had spent money for treatment with help from relatives and loan.
They are not solvent by any means.
Shamim’s mother is our sister Shyla Syed who came to USA in 2011. She was married to our late brother Syed Ahmed Raoof who passed away in 2018. Sister Shyla lives in our community by herself, works for a Home Health Care company, and earns barely enough to support herself. Many of you have helped sister Shyla in the past in different ways, getting her a car, some financial assistance etc.
Any mother would be desperate to provide the treatment for her child. Treatment for cancer is not affordable for many families, especially for a widow like sister Shyla. It is impossible for her to bear the treatment cost for her son alone. However, together, we as a community should be able to lessen her burden a bit.
Current immediate need is $3200. If 32 of us contributes $100 each, that will take care of the current need. If anyone wants to contribute less or more, Insha-Allah no amount is small.
