On June 8th, my Husband Patrick was rushed to the ER by ambulance. He underwent emergency, life-saving surgery after going septic. It was the scariest moment of our lives—we almost lost him. He has now been diagnosed with a chronic illness.
Patrick and I have been together for over 20 years, since I was 18. He’s not only the love of my life and my best friend, but in recent years, he’s also become my caregiver.
I have multiple chronic illnesses—POTS, autoimmune diseases, and severe arthritis in my hips. My health declined significantly after we had our two children. I can barely stand for more than five minutes without collapsing. Our kids are both autistic and are relying on me, and soon, Patrick will too as he begins the long road to recovery.
Patrick had just started training for a new role at work. We don’t know when he’ll be able to return. I’m doing everything I can to hold our family together, but the financial strain is overwhelming.
We’re facing:
*Mounting hospital bills
*The cost of food and takeout, since I can’t cook regularly / new dietary requirements
*Utility bills
*A plumbing emergency (June 11th)
*Yard and home maintenance Patrick can no longer manage
*Mobility tools and equipment we’ll both need
*Daily expenses that continue to pile up
I don’t want Patrick to stress about money when he should be focusing on healing. Anything you can give—whether it’s a donation or a share—means the world to our family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
With love and gratitude,
Kristina and Patrick
