My beloved aunt is facing the toughest battle of her life. Recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that has tragically spread from 3 to 20 spots in her brain in a 5 day span. With continuous scans, our goal is to get her to breathe on her own and to slow down the spread. While moving with activity, just walking short distances, her oxygen drops down to mid 70s. She’s been fighting tirelessly since her initial ER visit on May 12th. Despite being a hardworking, never-smoking, never-drinking 43-year-old Vietnamese woman who just achieved her citizenship, she now faces immense medical challenges. Her Medi-CAL insurance is limiting her access to critical treatment at Stanford, forcing her to restart her care at a lower-rated facility. As her niece, I’ve had to take leave from work to care for her, and we’re struggling to navigate this crisis. We’re asking for your support to help cover the costs of transferring her back to Stanford, exploring other specialized cancer centers, and ensuring she receives the best possible care, whether that’s here or back in her homeland of Vietnam. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in her fight for life.
