On June 8th, my cousin suffered a serious aquatic accident in Costa Rica that left his spinal cord compromised at the C5 vertebrae. He does not have mobility in his legs but has some arm movement and is currently recovering from COVID-19 in isolation at the hospital.
He’s a bright, kind young man studying computer science with dreams of an active, fulfilling life. Before the accident, he was athletic, driven, and full of promise. We believe that with proper rehabilitation and intensive physical therapy, he has a real chance at regaining independence and returning to the life he loves.
My entire family lives in Costa Rica, where access to advanced rehabilitation services and long-term care is limited compared to what’s available in the United States. That’s why I’m reaching out for help. Donations will go directly toward his recovery, supporting physical therapy, medical equipment, and ongoing care that he urgently needs.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to giving him the future he deserves. Thank you for your compassion and support.
