For those who already know Moose, don’t panic… but I need help with a Moose medical issue.
Moose is my BFF! My family!! The only family I have here in Florida!
At his Vet annual visit yesterday, the Vet discovered 4 impacted teeth! I had no idea, and the Vet didn’t blame me at all.
Moose is such a chill, sweet doggie; he never gave any pain indication!!
If this procedure is not done, there is the real possibility of infection entering Moose’s bloodstream!! That scares me so much!!
Moose has been drooling a tad more, but I honestly thought it was due to more treats I’ve been giving him lately. One day last week, I thought his muzzle on one side looked a bit swollen. The swelling was down the next day; therefore, I thought he might have bumped it and I knew we had his upcoming annual visit to have it checked.. I overlooked the actual reason. I feel horrible!!!
Moose’s teeth are big and strong, and he will need anesthesia, of course. Plus, the Vet who perfirms Surgery at Moose’s Vet Clinic, will do a thorough cleaning and make sure there are no other issues.
Also, in a few months after these heal, as it will be the equivalent of pulling wisdom teeth from a human, Moose will need special food, sterile care, and very possibly need 2 more extractions a few months after the initial procedure.
There will be pre-bloodwork and a full medical to make sure he is fine with the anesthesia.
It will be a 4 to 5-hour dental operation process.
I’ve cried and cried… but I know, as the Vet stated, that Moose will be much, much better!!
The cost is about 4 to 5 thousand, which covers everything this go-round and next. I’m going to send out a group help via Messenger.

I don’t normally have my city public but am releasing it here while this Help Request is in progress since Moose’s Vet has the name of our city in it.

I have been told by a couple of friends who have already donated via Moose’s vet that it does require a wait on the phone if the office is busy. I checked reviews of Animal Veterinarian offices when I recently moved here, and Moose’s Vet came highly recommended; thus, they stay very busy. Please, if you donate or call to verify directly to the Vet office, hang in there. Just know to pick a time to call when you have spare time.
How much ever I can raise will depend on how much of the Medically Needed dental procedure can be done.
I’ve been contacting organizations, and for doggie dental, it is very, very scarce. If it was broken bones, injury, etc., I could get organizational assistance much easier.
