Hello everyone, my name is Mika Jenkins and I’m setting up this fundraiser page for my mother. A few weeks ago she went to have a mammogram done due to swollen area under her right arm pit. The hospital called her and wanted her to go to Tyler for a Biospy and when we went the Dr. Told her she has Breast cancer. My heart just dropped to the ground. She is my world, my best friend my mom my everything. The word cancer just freaks you out and then u start asking a lot of questions and of course what are the steps to take and many Drs. Appts to go to. We have met with Texas Oncology and they sent her to Tyler to have a port placed in her chest, that was last Tuesday. Now she has to do 6 months chemo and after two months they will do a biopsy to see if the chemo has shrunk the cancer. If so then she will have a masectomy done on her right breast. Then she will have to continue chemo treatments. The Dr.said it is cureable but we have to start chemo soon because it is spreading rapidly. Her Medicare approved chemo treats but she is responsible for 6000.00 to 8000.00 Copay. All proceeds will go towards her Copay.
