My name is Michelle Hutchens, and my daughter, Megan Padgett, just welcomed her 2nd daughter on June 5, 2025. Her pregnancy was somewhat routine until May 31st when she started having extreme stomach pain. They told her it was probably a muscle pull from picking up her 1 1/2 year daughter, Addison. Two days later she was back in more pain, and they again sent her home saying they didn’t know what it was. The morning June 2nd, she was in so much pain they called an ambulance to get her to the hospital. After many tests and scans, she was finally diagnosed with Chrone’s Disease.
Being her due date was still 2 weeks away, they didn’t want to induce, so she laid in the hospital for two days in excruciating pain. On the morning of June 5th, at 5:00 am, her water broke, and Brooklyn Monique was born at 5:17th pm.
They were afraid the birth of the baby would make the Chrones flare up worse, which is exactly what is happening. Right now, she is still in excruciating pain, not being able to care for her newborn or her 1 1/2 year old. Her boyfriend Matt has had to be off work to help her with normal daily activities, plus help with the two babies.
They have both put in for Paid FMLA, but it could be 5 weeks before they see any of those payments, leaving them no way to pay bills, buy groceries, formula, or just normal living expenses. They do not qualify for WIC or any government help. Unfortunately, we are not able to help them financially.
Matt swallowed his pride and visited the local food bank today, and they were able to get some help to last them a few days.
This is supposed to be a joyful time, as they welcome our precious Brooklyn, but the medical set back has turned their world up side down.
Any donation is appreciated!!!
