Help Support Layla’s Fight Against Leukemia
It’s surreal to be writing this story for my beautiful, smart, talented, and loving baby cousin (and former flower girl) Layla Rai Morales.
At just 11 years old, Layla was recently diagnosed with AML Leukemia, a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer. As you can imagine, this news has completely shattered the hearts of our entire family. Just last month, Layla was traveling with her family to Charleston, wrapping up her school year, and having a blast at her softball tournament.
In the span of a few days, everything changed. And now, we’re humbly asking for your help as Layla and our family face this fight together.
Layla currently resides in Florida, where she is undergoing intensive treatment and will remain hospitalized through Christmas. The road ahead will be long and difficult, but if you know Layla, you know she’s a warrior. She’s not just smart — she’s brilliant. She’s not just kind — she’s deeply nurturing, especially with her younger cousins, whom she adores. And she’s not just a music lover — she’s Taylor Swift’s number one fan!
Her devoted parents, Carlos (Nicky) and Jessica (Jessie), have put everything on hold to be by her side. Both have taken extended time off from work to focus solely on Layla’s care. As you can imagine, the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming. This journey has already placed immense strain on their family, and we want nothing more than to ease that burden so they can be fully present for Layla.
We are raising $50,000 to help cover:
Ongoing medical expenses
Travel and lodging near the hospital
Household bills during extended time off work
Support for Layla’s long recovery into the new year
If you’re able, please consider donating — every dollar brings relief and hope. If you’re unable to give, sharing this link or joining us in prayer is just as powerful and deeply appreciated.
Layla is a fighter, and with your love, faith, and support, we know she will overcome this. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with our beautiful baby girl.
