Help Kristen Fight Breast Cancer —Support Her Journey
Hello everyone,
We (Donavin, Makenah and Jackson) are reaching out to you with heavy hearts but hopeful spirits to support our mother who has always been a light in the lives of those around her. Kristen, a 37 year old single mom, has recently been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, a form of breast cancer. She will be undergoing treatment at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and while she is prepared to fight with everything she has, the financial burden is overwhelming.
My mother is the kind of person who gives, even when she has nothing left. She has always put us children, our entire family, and friends before herself, lifting others up in their hardest times. Now it’s our turn to lift her up.
Between travel expenses to and from Columbus, time off work, and mounting medical bills, our mother is facing an uphill battle, and not just against cancer. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward:
• Gas, lodging, and meals for travel to and from the OSU Wexner Medical Center
• Uncovered medical costs, her current medical plan has a very unreasonably high out of pocket deductible
• Basic living expenses while she is unable to work during treatment
• Support for us children, who are her entire world!
My mom has done so much for me and my siblings. No matter how hard things got, she always stood tall and made sure we had what we needed. Even when it seemed impossible, she found a way to provide and keep the family strong. Her strength and love have been the foundation that held us all together through every challenge.
Breast cancer has changed our lives in ways no one could have expected. It brought fear and uncertainty, but it also showed just how brave and resilient our mom is. Despite everything, she never lost hope or gave up. Her courage in facing this battle head on is inspiring to everyone around her. She’s not just fighting for herself but for the whole family, showing what true strength looks like. Our mom is an amazing person, and there’s no doubt she can fight this with ease. Her spirit is unbreakable, and her determination is unbeatable. With all the love and support she has, she will continue to battle breast cancer and come out stronger. her fight is a powerful reminder of how incredible she is.
Mom will be starting chemotherapy within the next couple weeks, followed by surgery and radiation therapy. While we have a long journey ahead of us, mom has given the journey to God who will see her through.
We are asking for prayers in this tough point in life.
