Support Kristen & Zach Anderson as they care for Abbey

Abbey’s cancer journey began in a way we never expected. At her routine 5-year-old checkup, her pediatrician noticed something concerning. She hadn’t shown any symptoms—she was her usual energetic, happy self—but that visit changed everything. After further testing, we learned that she had a tumor on her left kidney.

Within a short time, she underwent surgery to remove her entire left kidney. It was a frightening time, but we were thankful the surgery was successful and the surgeon was able to remove the tumor completely. It was later confirmed to be a Stage 2 Wilms Tumor—a type of kidney cancer most common in young children.

She bounced back from surgery with incredible strength and started chemotherapy just a week later. The road since then has been full of ups and downs. She handled much of the treatment bravely, but in April, her body took a serious hit. The chemotherapy caused her liver to shut down and triggered severe neuropathy, which made even the simplest tasks incredibly difficult for her.

Despite this major setback, her care team quickly adjusted her chemotherapy plan. Now, in addition to her modified treatment, she is working hard in physical and occupational therapy. Her therapists are helping her rebuild strength, coordination, and motor skills so she can be ready to start kindergarten in the fall.

Through it all, our daughter has shown remarkable courage, resilience, and spirit. This journey has been one we never imagined, but she is meeting it with a bravery far beyond her years. We’re so proud of her and grateful for the support of friends, family, and the medical team helping us along the way.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
