Support Kiara’s Battle with HIE

Hi, I’m Nicole and I’m making this fundraiser for my family. My fiancé and I had our first daughter in August of last year, and she’s our light. When I went into labor, there were complications and uncertainty that led to brain damage. She was having a seizure for hours, but the uncertainty led to further damage. Kiara has been seizure-free up until the 25th of last month. Kiara is 9 months old, battling HIE (hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy). Although this isn’t fully reversible, we can do therapy to help her and try our best to avoid her triggers, which in Kiara’s case are fevers so far.

My fiancé and I are currently trying to get our own place, and with me being unable to work, preexisting medical bills on top of new medical bills, I’m not sure how we’re going to make it. I still owe Lifeline for my daughter’s flight to Seattle, and with her recent seizure, we’re going to have another bill. I’m thankful insurance covers her medication, but I’m not sure if it’ll cover her seizure detector; I’m currently working that out with her doctors. If we can’t get it prescribed, then it’ll be roughly $800-$1000. The detector is very important to us because her last seizure happened while we were sleeping, and I woke up to it. From when I woke up to when it stopped was roughly 40 minutes.

Right now, though, I’m just trying to raise enough to cover her medical bills and the couple of days that my fiancé went without working to help us not have to cut into our savings that we have to get our own space. We greatly appreciate any help we can get, and even if you’re unable to donate, we appreciate any prayers for our girl. Thank you.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
