My husband Ken was out on the road working in May. He suddenly developed chest pain and went to the ER. He was found to have a massive aortic dissection and was flown to a major level one trauma and cardiac center in Grand Rapids, MI. Ken has spent two full weeks in the ICU and has had multiple critical life-saving surgeries since May 8th.
During this extensive hospital stay, we have experienced many near-death experiences with Ken. We have been unable to work while he recovers and learns to walk and gain strength again. This has unfortunately placed an incredible financial strain on our family. We are so grateful that Ken has survived and is starting to make strides, but we will need help to ensure we can make the long trip from Michigan to Virginia.
