On May 20, Jon Wendell (61), was found unconscious. He was diagnosed with advanced pneumonia and was rushed to the hospital. Once he was checked out by the physicians, it was discovered his glucose level was over 800. Due to complications with his breathing, he was put on a ventilator to assist with his breathing. He was on that for several days, which led to a more serious complication due to the medication they use when you’re on life support. Jon had to have his right leg amputated below the knee. He worked full-time at Shoney’s and will not be able to return to work for a very long time or possibly permanent disability. Jon is still in the hospital recovering and is about to start physical rehabilitation so he can learn to walk again with his new leg. He is in very good spirits and is glad to have survived. While recovering and waiting for any benefits to help him out, he needs our help. If we can all pull together and donate a few dollars, it will help him out tremendously. Our family thanks you!!
