My friend Jessica has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Jessica is very involved in her church and volunteers frequently to assist her community. She and her husband Alan are in their 60s, and they both are still working full-time jobs. She does not qualify for health insurance, not even Medi-Cal. Her doctors have told her she needs to start chemo and radiation as soon as possible. The doctors and hospital will not perform any procedures until she is able to afford it. She has exhausted all of her options to receive financial assistance. Jessica has asked me to create this fundraiser as her last option to save her life. She is very concerned about what her future looks like and how much time will be left. Jessica needed to stop working since she is spending most of her time trying to navigate this uncertain time in her life.
