My name is Jerrica, and earlier this year my life changed dramatically. In January, I became very sick and spent 26 days in the hospital, where doctors discovered I have a brain tumor. The pressure on my brain was dangerously high, and I needed emergency surgery to place a shunt. This is just the first step—my doctors hope this will relieve enough pressure so I can eventually have surgery to remove the tumor. Since January, I’ve been unable to work. The pain and symptoms have made it hard to walk, get out of bed, or even remember things some days. I’ve lost vision in my right eye, and I need 24-hour care because I can’t drive or manage daily tasks on my own. Thankfully, I finally found a reliable doctor who is helping me stay on top of my treatment, but the road ahead is long and uncertain.
I’m raising funds to help cover rent, utilities, medical bills, and the essentials for my three children: Jaliyah (14), Jacoby (11), and Jazelle (10). I want to make sure they have what they need for school, sports, and daily life while I recover. I’ve applied for disability, but it could be months before any support comes through. In the meantime, I’m facing travel expenses for medical appointments, food costs, and the challenge of keeping our home stable for my kids. Every dollar donated will go directly to supporting me and my children during this difficult time. Your support means the world to us and will help us get through the months ahead as I recover from surgery and prepare for the next steps in my treatment.
