In 2021, at the age of 29 during a routine doctor visit Jade was unexpectedly diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma (a type of blood cancer) . The news came as a huge surprise to her loved ones especially for her and her husband and their two children. After months of an intensive chemotherapy regimen and all the challenges it brings, Jade went into remission. Just one month after overcoming the greatest battle of her life, they received news that Jade was pregnant with twins!
Sadly as Jade was pregnant in her 2nd trimester she became extremely sick and was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy and severe heart failure. This caused her to deliver the twins at just 28 weeks requiring the twins to be in the NICU for 3 months. While still dealing with the news of the heart failure, the twins in the NICU and wanting to be present for her other two children Jade remained strong throughout this entire ordeal.
Three months after bringing home her new babies from the NICU she learned in a follow up cardiac visit that her heart was pumping at only 6%. She was admitted into the hospital and had to receive a Left Ventricular Assistive Device that pumps the left side of her heart. There were complications during the LVAD surgery that resulted her being in a medically induced coma for 3 weeks. This medically induced coma resulted in Jade having to learn how to talk and walk all over again with physical and speech therapy.
After two years of being home and living with the LVAD, while also being on the heart transplant list, Jade’s body is now rejecting the LVAD and the right side of her heart is failing as well. Jade needs a heart now more than ever as the LVAD is malfunctioning and she is now required to stay in the hospital until she can receive her heart transplant.
As you can imagine with Jade unable to work, this medical journey has been a huge financial burden for her and her family. If Jade’s strength alone were enough to get her through this ordeal then there would be no worries from her family and friends but the reality is there are many challenges that lies ahead as she waits for a heart transplant. The medical expenses associated with this process are astronomical.
If you can help the family reach their financial goal of 50k, this would be a huge help. No donation is too big or too small. Your donation will help with the medical costs associated with her current hospital stay, heart transplant, post-surgical care, medications, and any other medical expenses that she faces during this journey.
Thank you in advance for your prayers.
Sincerely,
The family and friends of Jade
