Support Huntleigh’s Journey to Health

Hey, it’s Makylie, Huntleigh’s mom. After multiple trips to Wake Forest, we’re finally getting answers. We got tests back finally, this has felt like it’s taken forever. Huntleigh has been having laryngospasms, which are what cause her to turn blue and pass out or even her excessive choking (I will add the diagnoses and information below). They did say these are possibly triggered by reflux and high amounts of pH/acid in her reflux. If this is the case, they let us know they have 2 surgical options to help minimize some of her pain and discomfort. There’s actually no cure, which as parents, that’s a hard pill to swallow. Once she is older, we can get her into more therapies to talk her through them. There’s not a big change right now, even with the 2 steroids they prescribed. We will be working on an emergency kit for her with an Ambu bag and oxygen, along with monitors to keep her on and track all the things. Wake Forest has been pushing for another hospital stay this week to run another 3-5 days for testing. They want a final decision on our last day to pick what surgery to do unless things go a different direction. The hospital also found cobblestones in her trachea and lungs (information added below). Unfortunately, with my husband’s income being our only income and him missing work trying to help with our 2 other kids, it’s been financially hard traveling with all 5 of us hours from home monthly. If you can’t donate, we completely understand. Please just pray for her as this has been so hard on her little body.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
