Our hearts are heavy as we share that Hinda Lipskier, the two-year-old daughter of Rabbi Shmuel and Rebbetzin Mushka Lipskier, has been diagnosed with leukemia.
The Lipskiers are the beloved leaders of Chabad at the University of Miami, where they have built more than a Jewish center — they’ve built a home. With endless warmth, strength, and love, they have inspired hundreds of students and families, igniting Jewish life on campus and leaving a lasting impact on the broader Chabad and UM communities. Whether through Shabbat dinners, educational conversations, or simply showing up for others, Rabbi Shmuel and Mushka are there — no matter the hour, no matter the need.
Now, they need us.
Their youngest child, Hinda, is beginning a focused and intensive journey of treatment and recovery. Because she is so young and her immune system is still developing, she will need to be cared for in a closely monitored and isolated environment. This means she will temporarily need to stay home rather than attend daycare or interact with other children, as her care must be highly individualized to ensure her safety and give her the strongest foundation for healing.
With time, care, and community support, we remain hopeful and confident in Hinda’s full recovery and brighter days ahead.
To keep her safe and give her the best chance at healing, specialized one-on-one care at home and during medical treatments is absolutely essential. The Lipskiers are doing everything in their power to ensure she receives this level of attention and support — but the emotional and financial weight of this is profound.
We are launching this campaign with an initial goal of $110,000, with the understanding that costs may exceed that. Funds raised will go directly toward one and a half years of this one-on-one care for Hinda while treatment prolongs.
Every donation, big or small, makes a real impact.
And beyond financial support, we ask for your prayers and mitzvot in the merit of a complete and speedy recovery for Hinda bas Chaya Mushka. Whether you light Shabbat candles, wrap tefillin, say a blessing with intention, or simply share kindness in her honor — it means more than you know.
Let’s come together to lift up the Lipskiers, just as they have lifted so many of us.
With love, gratitude, and hope,
