Hi,
my name is Florence. My husband, Billy and I had the honor of Pastor Park marrying us back in 2008. Despite the language barrier (my husband doesn’t speak Korean well), he gave us pre-marital counseling and poured wisdom and guidance to prepare us for our marriage. Most importantly, he prayed for us week after week.
If you know pastor Park, he has the most genuine and warm smile that you can spot across the room. He will excitedly walk over and shake your hand with the biggest smile on his face. He will always let you know through his warm demeanor that he is so happy to see you.
Pastor Park has always been a humble servant who welcomed every person that walked in through the church door. Despite the small number of Korean congregation at GMBC, he was always faithful in serving and shepherding his church.
Today, I found out that he got diagnosed with stomach cancer. It is a new diagnosis so there aren’t many details but he got his portacath surgery for blood draws and upcoming treatments. He will find out next week about prognosis and treatment plans/options.
Even though his medical bills are covered mostly through Medical, they still have bills that they need to pay. MSN (pastor Park) and SMN have been working side jobs to make the ends meet to keep the church door open and to continue serving and with his new diagnosis, they will be very limited in working, if any.
I am humbly asking you to show them your support by meeting their needs in a practical way.
If you have been blessed to know Pastor Park, SMN, Justin or Grace, I pray that you will be moved to help them any way you can. No amount is too small. Your prayers are definitely appreciated as well.
