I am a 77 year old woman. I had cancer in 2009; it was bone cancer in the soft tissue of my left leg. The cancer was removed and after chemo therapy and radiation I was declared cancer free. As time went on it became necessary to have a knee replacement of my left knee.
While the operation was a success, infection developed and after extensive antibiotic treatment the wound did not heal. The doctors found that the radiation destroyed tissue that was now dead. The only solution was amputation in August 2024.
In May 2025 I finally received a mechanical artificial limb, instead of a computerized one. The insurance company would only pay for the mechanical limb. I am seeking the 20% that the insurance company did not pay. The 20% comes to $2,584.
