Erica has been my best friend for almost 30 years. And even though life has given her more struggles than she ever deserved, she always goes out of her way to make anybody laugh or smile.
What most people don’t know is that in July 2024, she was diagnosed with stage four invasive lobular breast cancer. It has made its way through her lymph nodes, spine, ribs, pelvis, femur, right arm, and all throughout her skin and scalp. Ever the champion that she is, she pushes on with love in her heart and an open hand to anyone who needs it.
Throughout her treatments, medical and holistic, she is still a mom and caring for three boys, 17, 14, and 11. She is a full-time caregiver for her middle son because he has an unbalanced chromosome translocation. It causes him to have 5 to 10 seizures per hour, severe intellectual disability, and orthopedic impairments.
Unfortunately, since her diagnosis, she is unable to find a permanent residence. She has already had to move twice. And that is incredibly hard for anyone, but it is particularly difficult because of the situation she is in. I would really like to raise money for her and her kids so that they can have a permanent residence. A place to call a forever home.
