Hello everyone,
The first week of June, my dad, Eddie, was diagnosed with Secondary Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He has begun treatment with the goal of getting his leukemia into remission. After he’s in remission he will have a stem cell transplant.
His first round of treatment is 21 days and we are unsure how many rounds he will need to get in remission. He will stay in the hospital during all or most of this time. How long he will be in the hospital is still unknown, as it will depend on how many rounds of treatment, as well as other factors.
Of course, this has come along unexpectedly and there’s a long road ahead. Many people have asked how they can help. We are hoping this fundraiser will help offset some of the medical costs, food/gas/parking costs for caretakers, and also supplement the loss of income that will eventually happen.
My dad is so lucky to be loved by so many people and Sandy, Tasha, Mariah, Sarina, Emily, and myself are all so grateful for all of the prayers and support!
Visits: if you would like to visit my dad in the hospital, please contact Sandy, Emily, or Shawndra. Please do not visit if you’re sick or symptoms of sickness because his immune system is extremely low.
