My name is Donnell, and I’m preparing for open heart surgery at University of Florida Health on June 26, 2025. This is a life-changing procedure, and while I’m hopeful for a smooth recovery, the journey comes with challenges that I can’t face alone.
The hospital is two hours from my home, and I’ll need to make multiple trips for the surgery, follow-up appointments, and ongoing care. My wife will be driving me back and forth, and the cost of gas and travel adds up quickly. On top of that, I’ll be out of work for about four months while I recover, which means we’ll have to cover meals and daily expenses without my regular income.
