My name is Bernard, and last year I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. Since then, my life has changed completely. I had to undergo surgery and have been on chemotherapy ever since. The treatments have been extremely hard on my body—at one point during my treatment week, I lost 10 pounds in just two days. The side effects make it difficult to get through each day, both physically and emotionally.
Because of my diagnosis and ongoing treatment, I haven’t been able to work. I’m handling this mostly on my own, and it’s been a real struggle to keep up with basic living expenses like rent, groceries, and gas. The financial stress is overwhelming on top of everything else I’m facing.
Support from my community would mean the world to me right now. Any help would lift a huge burden and allow me to focus on my recovery instead of worrying about how to make ends meet. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer.
