In times like these, community means everything – and right now, the Rice family could use our love, strength, and support.
Their 6-year-old son, Beckham, was recently diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) — a rare disease that affects the immune system and can cause damage to bones and organs.
For nearly a year, Beckham struggled with persistent abdominal pain. After numerous doctor’s visits, ER visits and medical tests, doctors discovered a lesion on his spine after multiple x-rays of his abdomen. Doctors suspected LCH but needed a biopsy to confirm. A biopsy was performed on Beckhams L4 vertebrae and came back inconclusive, leaving the family with more questions than answers. Further scans revealed an additional lesion on his pelvis, and after another biopsy, Beckham was officially diagnosed with LCH.
Beckham has now begun a year-long treatment plan involving weekly chemotherapy and steroids. Through all of this, he’s shown nothing but strength, courage, and resilience. Beckham is the definition of a warrior.
This diagnosis has deeply impacted the Rice family both emotionally and financially. We’ve created this fundraiser to offer support during this incredibly challenging time, allowing the Rice family to focus fully on what matters most: helping Beckham heal.
