Recently, Amber was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. This diagnosis has turned her world upside down. She now faces a long and difficult road of chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy, and possibly surgery. Amber will need wigs, compression bras, regular MRI and PET scans, lab tests, and ongoing doctor appointments. While she has insurance, it comes with a high deductible and many out-of-pocket expenses that are quickly adding up. As a part-time cosmetologist, Amber’s income is limited, and her ability to work may be affected as her treatment progresses.
