We are reaching out to help raise funds for our bestie Stacy!
As some of you know Stacy began having symptoms late in 2023. She passed out due to having extremely low hemoglobin (12-14 is normal range and as we all know Stacy can’t be normal, so she had to be a 4.2). After being hospitalized at Regions for a couple of weeks and several blood transfusions later she was able to come home. After working closely with doctors at both Regions and Mayo she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma a blood cancer and MDS which is a Bone Marrow Cancer. Both are rare forms of cancer it is even more rare to be diagnosed with both. Stacy has been receiving weekly chemo treatments and weekly blood transfusions and soon will be receiving a marrow stem cell transplant at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Stacy was fortunate enough that Mayo has found her a perfect match for her transplant and we thank God each day for this wonderful gift!
Starting in mid-July, Stacy will be required to be at Mayo to start the stem cell transfer process. This will consist of several weeks of extensive chemo and then the transplant itself. She will be required to stay in Rochester for a minimum of 3 months and will need to be within 10 minutes of the hospital. As you can imagine Stacy and her family will be facing a lot of medical expenses along with lodging, meals and daily expenses.
Please help us give Stacy the help she needs to make this as comfortable as possible and lesson the burden of worry she is already having. We are so grateful for any support we can get.
