Today, after 22 days, our dearest friend, father, son and husband Corbin Croomes will be brought home by ambulance from Vanderbilt Hospital to be in his home with his family under hospice care. After being diagnosed with oral cancer over a year ago, Corbin has underwent months of chemotherapy and radiation that wreaked havoc on his body. Since then, Corbin has fought so so incredibly hard to return to health but this terrible disease just. won’t. let. go. Many of you have continued to pray for Corbins complete healing and I know Michelle and Corbin have felt those prayers. Lord, this is your son. The doctors and medicine has done all that it can do. We are at Your mercy Lord. We don’t understand the why. We are allowed to be angry and scream out ” it’s not fair”. You have brought him so far and we pray Lord that you and only you will see him through. We are selfish God. We want to keep him. We want him to see his sons play football again, graduate, get married and be a grandpa. We want to see Corbin continue as his daughters knight and shinning armor, be at the dance recitals, graduations and walk her down the isle. Lord, I have witnessed the goodness you have transformed in Corbins life and we thank you for that. Lord please be with Michelle as she hasn’t left his side for one minute. We ask that you bless her Lord. She will need strength for these days, weeks, months ahead. She will need help in various ways, bills covered, groceries delivered, mental breaks and time with her daughter, and yet space to spend time with their family of 5. In your name we pray, Amen.
Some of you have already done so much, you know who you are, and I know Michelle is very grateful.
So this brings me to TODAY. When those ambulance doors open I want Corbin to see as many family and friends gathered as possible lining his street of 2915 Clearwater Dr. to Welcome him HOME!! We expect the ambulance to arrive around 4:30 to 5:00 pm if all goes well with traffic. The street is narrow so carpooling is encouraged. I will be parked in the open area of Jenkins Deli, Lasaters coffee parking area on the far end. White QX80. I would encourage anyone who can meet and drive people over to be ready at 4:30. I will update times as I hear from Michelle. I know this is short notice but if you can make this happen for Corbin I know it would make him smile to see and feel the love and support around him.
