Please help Stu with his recovery

This is a hard request to make – we aren’t comfortable asking for help, but Stu needs all the support he can get.

Stuart was involved in a serious car accident near Edmonton on 21 January 2016.   Stuart was thrown from the vehicle upon impact, and was airlifted to hospital in Edmonton with life-threatening injuries.  Assessment of his condition revealed fractures to two vertebrae, deep skin lacerations, spinal ligament damage and severe impact damage to his teeth.  Because of the damage to Stu’s spine, it is not yet known whether his current paralysis will be permanent.

We are incredibly fortunate that Stu is still with us.  We have visited him in Edmonton and are hopeful that once he is stable enough, he will be transferred to a facility closer to home.

Once Stu is back home in BC, we have some difficult realities to face:  unknown to him at the time, the vehicle was not insured, and as a result, many of the costs Stu is facing (equipment, rehabilitation assistance, time not working) will be out of pocket.  While we are prepared to help him in any way we can, our resources will be stretched to breaking point.

Please consider supporting Stu on his journey back to wellness.  Any amount you are able to share will go directly towards Stu’s recovery, be it for equipment or care not covered by BC MSP.

Thank you for reading!  We will make sure to share all of your messages of support with Stu as we receive them.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
