Good day. I’m trying to raise funds for covering medical expenses. In 2019 I was dealing with lots of foot pain, but the podiatrist didn’t believe me. Three months later I woke up and even more pain this time from the waist down I couldn’t walk I couldn’t move. It seems as though the pain that I was having the bottom of my feet went up, my legs. I went to the hospital where they performed several different tests could not figure out what was wrong they could not diagnose me while in the hospital they put a foot stimulator on me to help with blood circulation. While they had this machine on me, I had reached down just to itch my leg and all of a sudden I had a jolt of electricity go through my hand and out through my other hand which started a nonstop current going through my body. I felt like I was getting electrocuted every couple of minutes. They put me on a heart monitor because my heart started skipping a beat. May hands from the wrist down now became useless. I was in constant, excruciating pain, my body was now physically unable to be touched. I couldn’t function on my own, needing a caregiver to help with everyday activities. I felt so useless. I struggle with depression, even more so when my neurologist told me that my career is over, I would be a liability and my nerve damage is irreversible. This is why I need to go to The Majo Clinic for further testing and evaluation of my neurological condition. I was also electrocuted in the hospital, which unfortunately changed my life forever. I’m no longer able to continue my career. I’m reaching out because my insurance would have covered it until new changes happened this year. Now it will be “out of network”. I’m disabled, recently lost my apartment, and unfortunately, my job is not giving me any hours.
It’s definitely been a life-changing experience. The clinic is in Minnesota and I am from Chicago. I will have to Foot the cost of the trip,hotel accommodations, and medical bills not cover. The first time I wanted to go to this clinic, 4 years ago they told me $5000 just to get in to see them and my insurance wouldn’t cover anything. I gave up then. I can’t give up now.
