Dear family and friends,
I am reaching out to request your support for my sister and her husband. A couple weeks ago, their lives were turned upside down when my brother-in-law suffered a massive heart attack, which literally stopped his heart. Against all odds, and with the help of people, science and miracles, he was brought back to this life. He has been released from the hospital with a regiment of care restrictions and guidelines. He has a long road of recovery ahead, riddled with many unknown variables.
What we do know is that his life is currently dependent on a cardiac vest that he wears to monitor and restart his heart when needed. This costs $1,600 to rent per month, and it does not include maintenance or repair. The emergency procedure that saved his life costs roughly $40,000, and this does not include the amazing first responder’s initiatives, tests, procedures, medicine and his overall stay in the ICU. We know that this journey will be physically, psychologically, and financially taxing for everyone involved. We know that we can’t do it without help.
We are beyond humbled and grateful for the insurmountable outpour of love and support that we have already received from people all over the world. No words could ever express how much it has meant to us. Thank you all for your continuous shows of love during this difficult time.
