Meg Needs Our Help: Burn Recovery

Our friend Meg needs our help.

While wrapping up a day of hiking in New Hampshire, Meg took a misstep and fell backwards into a campfire. Her clothes caught fire instantly, and though Tristan pulled her out quickly, the flames had already caused serious damage – her clothes on fire and her pants melted to her skin. Meg was rushed to the nearest emergency room and then transported by ambulance to the burn unit at Mass General, where she’s being treated for second- and third-degree burns.

Today (day 3) she was evaluated by the surgeon for skin grafts. The second-degree burns are healing well. The better they heal, the better for the surgery but everyday remains a risk of infection. So tough decisions are being made.

Likely next week, doctors will begin the process of removing damaged tissue and if there’s no infection and the wound base is ready, she can have skin graft surgery.

This accident is a thing of nightmares. Along with the physical and emotional toll, she is now facing financial uncertainty. Meg has limited insurance coverage and will be out of work for a few weeks at least. The cost of her hospital stay, upcoming procedures, and travel for follow-up care in Boston will add up quickly.

If you’re able to help, any contribution—will be received with gratitude. Your support will go directly toward her medical bills and living expenses.

For those who prefer to help in other ways, we’ll be setting up a Meal Train to support her during recovery. Whether you support with a hug, financially, donuts – whatever, we appreciate you. Thank you xo

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
