On Friday May 30th my Sister Dawn and husbands house caught on fire. Dawn’s husband was critically injured and Dawn was treated for smoke inhalation. Her husband suffered 1st, 2nd, 3rd and mostly 4th degree burns on over 36% of his body and also in his lungs. He was placed on a
ventilator, ECMO, dialysis as his kidneys took a hit and numerous other things. He is still sedated to help his body, lungs and kidneys heal. He is a fighter, yesterday they were able to take him off of the ECMO, and today was moved to the Burn ICU. Tomorrow he will under go surgery almost all day to amputate his left hand, remove all the burned tissue and apply artifical skin graphs. He has a very long road ahead. My sister Dawn had a brain tumor removed 10 years ago and suffered a stroke and her husband has been her caregiver since. The house is a loss and Dawn, unable to care for herself will need to come to Minnesota for awhile while we focus on her husband and we will care for her and if needed him also when released. With that being said, there is going to be alot of travel involved to keep Dawn here in Missouri as often as possible from Minnesota to be with her husband, plus maintain their bills,
Gas, boarding, medical bills and future, as this is going to be a long journey.
