- Hi, my name is Monica Hernandez and I am the mother of Kaine Rodriquez. Kaine was born on June 9, 2009, and was born with multiple birth defects that were life-threatening since the day he took his first breath. Kaine was born with Eagle-Barrett Syndrome, also known as Prune Belly Syndrome. Kaine has faced a lot of hospitalizations. Till today, we have done everything possible to keep Kaine motivated and with high spirits that everything is going to be okay. Kaine is now 15 and will turn 16 soon. I didn’t think my baby was going to live this far, but here we are. Kaine is now facing the last stages of renal failure, and we have traveled just about everywhere. We are now in San Antonio and have to travel to San Antonio twice a week. Soon, we will have to stay in San Antonio for a couple of months until Kaine heals. I’m not asking for much, but anything will help so we can stay up there with Kaine and help provide for our meals and night stays. Since I’m not qualified to stay with him through the Ronald McDonald House and stuff like that because I have a past that taunts me every day of my life. Not only that, but my car has given out on me, so finding rides to San Antonio isn’t cheap. If you could please consider giving a small amount to Kaine’s fundraiser, I would truly appreciate it.
