Hi, my name is Katy, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beautiful momma, Karen Hall. She’s one of the strongest, kindest women I know. But right now, she really needs help.
My mom’s dentures no longer fit properly, and it’s become a serious health concern. She struggles to chew her food, and there’s a constant risk of choking. My dad now has to carefully chop up every meal into tiny pieces, and even then, eating is still uncomfortable and discouraging for her.
She recently visited the dentist, hoping for a new set of dentures. We were heartbroken to learn that she no longer has enough ridge on her lower gums to support traditional dentures. The dentist explained that she’ll need special posts surgically installed so snap-in dentures can be used on the bottom. This is the only way she’ll be able to chew safely and enjoy food again.
The cost, however, is far more than we can afford on our own. The new upper dentures are $2,500, and the bottom ones will also cost $2,500, not including the posts that have to be installed for the bottom set. Insurance is only covering a very small portion of the cost. This, along with the cost of my dad’s own dental bills and my mom’s other medical costs because of her Multiple Sclerosis, has us feeling a bit overwhelmed financially.
If you’ve ever seen someone you love cry because they can’t eat a simple meal, you know how deeply this affects someone’s dignity and quality of life. My mom deserves to smile, laugh, and eat without pain or fear again.
If you can give anything—even just a few dollars—it would mean the world to my family. And if you’re not in a position to donate, please consider sharing this with others who might be able to help.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
