Julie’s Brain Tumor Journey: Requesting Help

My name is Julie Spears. I am 32 years old and I have been diagnosed with a pituitary brain tumor. In May 2025, I had to go to the Vanderbilt ER because I was unable to tell the doctor my birthday, my last name, and I did not know my husbands name. My memory and cognitive issues are really declining and this sucker of a tumor needs to come out! On June 4th, 2025, I had to go to the Vanderbilt ER again because I could not speak. I could hear what I needed to say in my head, but I couldn’t get the words to come out of my mouth. I have had 2 MRI’s and 2 CT’s within 2 weeks. Each time that I went to the Vanderbilt ER, they not only treated me as a stroke patient, but they said I have very small TIA’s (mini-strokes).

One time, I got lost driving on a road I travel on several times a day many times a week. I called my mom and she looked at Life360 and said I am 7 minutes away from home and to set my GPS. Thankfully, I got home safely. I will be seeing an endocrinologist and a neurosurgeon on July 2nd at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville to discuss surgery and next steps.

Ironically enough, my dad had the same exact tumor and had to have his removed in 2006.

I am asking for donations to help with gas and copays, food, etc. I am about to start making A LOT of trips to Nashville and I really need help. Anything helps. If you cannot donate, that is okay. I would just appreciate your prayers and good thoughts/vibes sent my way. Love you guys!

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
