Hello my name is Andrea Wyant (Rosa) and I created this fundraiser on behalf of “Grammy”. As some of you may know our story, we adopted Grammy three years ago when we did some work for her. We quickly bonded and grew to love her. As we found out she was an elderly lady on her own we decided we would be her immediate care givers until the Lord allows. After a big injury we decided to move her out closer to us within minutes so I can care for her and check on her daily. Doing so unfortunately caused her to lose her Kaiser insurance due to the location. Even then she did not want to move back to Madera where she had no one so moving her back to a coverage area is not an option for her.
This lady is one tough lady and stubborn as she’s not one to ask for help or allow for help so I decided I would create this page on her behalf because her health is now being affected. Grammy loves gardening, plants and flowers give her joy. I want to keep Grammy healthy so she can enjoy these hobbies as long as possible. With us being in the Central Valley it brings about other health issues for her as well.
Grammy is an 80 yr young lady who has beaten not 1 but 4 cancers in her life time. This shows you just how stubborn she is. She was not going to let cancer win lol. With that said, one of those cancers was lung cancer therefore she needs specific medications and breathing treatments that Medicare doesn’t cover. I was able to get her additional insurance which helped with other procedures, but still no coverage for these medications.
Each medication is $300 a month. As an elderly lady on SS and a fixed income it’s become too much to afford along with rent and personal bills etc. She will not be able to continue her treatments for a sustainable amount of time.
