My mom is the heart and soul of our family—a devoted mother of five and a loving grandmother to two precious little ones under two. She treats everyone like her own child, always offering unconditional love and support to those around her.
After flying into California on May 30, 2025, my mom began feeling unwell and promptly sought help at the hospital. By the grace of God, she secured an appointment with one of the top neurosurgeons in the country. During her evaluation, doctors discovered that she has multiple cysts—which were once separate but have now merged into a mass about an inch long—pressing on her pineal gland. The pineal gland is a tiny yet vital part of the brain responsible for producing melatonin, the hormone that regulates our sleep patterns, energy levels, and overall balance. When its function is compromised, it can lead to disrupted sleep, severe fatigue, and other serious health issues.
Due to the pressure on her head, my mom is currently unable to fly back home from California, making the situation extremely urgent. In just a matter of days, she will need to undergo a delicate and high-risk surgical procedure. While we are still awaiting further details regarding the full surgical plan, we know that without prompt financial support, her condition will only worsen.
In addition to her mounting medical expenses, a portion of the funds will help cover crucial moving expenses. My mom’s lease ends on July 7th, and since she is currently across the country—with all her kids and family living in Florida—she unexpectedly needs to move her belongings. After surgery, she will be unable to get on a plane and her recovery could take up to 90 days. My moms biggest wish is to move back home to Tallahassee. Being closer to family means everything right now- she needs our love, support, and care more than ever. We’re raising funds to help ensure she can heal surrounded by the people who know and love her most but also so that when her recovery is over, she can return to a home where all her possessions and valuables remain safe.
